Blake Gardner & The Farmers break free from being able to be defined by a single genre through mixing together elements of blues, reggae, funk, twang, jazz, and nearly everything else under the sun. Known for their improvisation and collaboration with other artists, Blake Gardner & The Farmers are sure to make each performance as unique and memorable as the last.
Sprouted along the banks of the Mississippi River, Gardner started performing live as a kid before formally playing at local bars and venues in high school (alternately under the name of “Blk Grdnr”). But it was in the Ozarks where Gardner’s music grew into the force it is now - a traveling supergroup that regularly includes guest musicians from all around the region and beyond. Since the band’s formation, they’ve built a reputation of being one of the Midwest’s favorite party bands with hours of groovy originals and covers alike featuring improvisational jams that are guaranteed to take the audience for a trip.
Both BGatF and Gardner (solo) play regularly throughout the Midwest including their home state of Missouri (most commonly found in the Ozarks, St. Louis, or Kansas City), Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and occasional appearances in Texas, Colorado, Kentucky, Indiana, and more!
BGatF has opened up for and shared the bill with reggae acts such as the Dirty Heads, Josh Heinrichs, Jah Roots, Aaron Kamm and the One Drops, and Jon Wayne and The Pain. BGatF has also been featured on festival bills headlined by giants such as the late Tom Petty, Steve Miller Band, Trey Anastasio Band, Widespread Panic, Primus, Ben Harper, The Roots, and Slightly Stoopid.
BGatF has performed at National Parks (Gateway Arch - Riverboats At The Gateway Arch), State Parks (Echo Bluff State Park), and other various landmarks such as Grant’s Farm (St. Louis, MO).
BGatF competed and won in the local 2015/16/17/24 “Summer Camp On The Road Tour” and the 2015 “Waka Winter Classic” and performed at both Summer Camp (2015, 2016, 2017, and 2024) and Wakarusa (2015). BGatF has headlined festivals such as Grateful Fest (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025), Willow Springs (2021, 2022, 2023), Gnomestock (2021, 2022) and Smoke On The River (2023, 2024). Other festivals that BGatF has performed at include WillyStock (2024, 2025), Sugar Creek Music Festival (2021), Elderberry Jam (2017, 2018, 2019), End Of World (2016), and Do The Dam Thing (2012). In addition, BGatF finished as finalists in Gorilla Music Entertainment’s Battle of the Bands (July 2014) and in the Breakout Artist Music Competition (October 2014).
BGatF has several Live Albums that make up the bulk of their catalogue with SCAMPED (2024) and SPACED (2020) both readily available on all streaming platforms. The band is currently working on their second studio album with producer Tim Hanson (North Village Recording and The Mixing Boutique). BGatF’s only studio single to date, “Feelin Fine”, was featured in Relix Magazine’s 2018’s February edition.
